‘How can I be more like the youth?’

“Here is a place where you see the love of Christ in action. Here is a place where you hear the words of Jesus in action. Here is a place where you taste and see that the Lord is good. Here, a place where lacking physically is nothing compared to the abundance of heart these children have. I gain far more than I give as a volunteer here. Love that knows no bounds, isn’t that what every Christian longs to experience and longs to give out?  I experience both of these phenomenons at Clubs In The City.  I always go home thinking, How can I be more like the youth at CITC?”

‘To reignite the passion God had given me in my single years.’

“The Lord has given me a great passion for working with teen girls to encourage them to know they are fearfully and wonderfully made as well as to give them counsel on making wise decisions in their youth.   Since getting married, I had not had much time to devote to teen girls while being a homemaker.  I believe the Lord was calling me to serve at Clubs In The City to reignite that passion that He had given me in my single years.”

‘I lead a discussion on Godly Womanhood.’

 “At CITC, I serve on the Core Team.  I help to plan activities for the youth that reinforce the theme that we are focusing on as well as to teach them important life skills.  During planning time, we talk about what we see the Lord doing in the youth and decide on what we feel the Lord is leading us to teach the youth for the next club.  I also lead a 30 minute discussion with the girls on topics focused on Godly womanhood.”
