“But then once I was there, I didn’t want to leave” – Jean Williams

‘…the Lord was leading me to pray…’

In 2007, it seemed the Lord was leading me to pray for the Father’s love to be made evident to the youth in the Saturday Clubs.  We would have prayer and worship before the kids came, but then once I was there, I didn’t want to leave.  I wanted to see what God would do.  I first started connecting with the kids. Then there was an opportunity to assist with the Drama Club and the Fabric Arts Club. We had a lot of fun with the kids. My favorite experience was when we each made a fabric panel that Roxanne sewed together into a beautiful quilt.

Since 2010,  I have met with the monthly prayer group to lift up the youth, the volunteers and Sheri before the Lord for His protection, provision and blessings.”

‘It is not about accomplishing our projects…’

“I gained being apart of a community, seeing Jesus touch hearts, and helping kids to know they are valued.  I’ve learned often it is not about accomplishing our projects, but sometimes just providing a safe environment where the kids can relax and experience healthy relationships that lead to a love relationship with Jesus.”
